· Weekly Features – With the rainy weather and event course closures this week, we have cancelled our feature menu. We look forward to a fresh feature menu next week.
Grounds
· Bunker Maintenance – We have completed 2 bunkers too date, hole #11 front bunker and Hole #17 right side bunker. These bunkers have new drainage and new sand. Next up will be the greenside bunker on Hole #8.
o We have found good success with hand raking the greenside bunkers and will continue to hand rake these bunkers every other day. The hand raking has led to less compaction and better playability.
o We will continue to trap rake the fairway bunkers. Firmness in these bunkers is desired.
o Hole #5 bunker boards will be coming out over the next month or so. We typically leave the boards in place for at least a year to ensure the sod lip has fully rooted.
· Fertilizing – We have upped the fertilizing on certain areas of the course. We had a few spots with winter desiccation as well as the alkali prone areas where we are trying to increase the grass growth. The rain and extra fertilizer should hopefully kick start these areas.
· Grass Heights – We have started to notice a difference in the grass height change. Fairways, fringes and tee boxes are all starting to fill in, and there is a noticeable change in the thickness and health. We are excited to see these results continue into the summer.
· Rough Height – With the recent rains, the rough will be growing. Please be patient and assured that we will be doing our best to manage the rough heights.
