Weekly Update - May 4th, 2026
Weekly Update
Administration
· Tag Marshal – We are starting the implementation of our Tag Marshal GPS system. All golf club carts now have a GPS tracker. This tracker will automatically assign to your tee time and will track your group pace of play. Our current time par is 4 hours and 10 minutes. As we see the results, we may adjust this time par to reflect what we are typically seeing for pace of play.
o Geo Fencing – We are also implementing our geo fencing system. All tees, greens and native grass areas have now been geo-fenced. The current warning will be a beeping to inform of being in a restricted area. When you hear the beeping, you should turn back and exit the beeping area. The fenced areas have just been put in place, and we are monitoring spots that need to be edited or changed, your patience is appreciated.
o Hard Stop Geo-Fencing – In approximately 6 weeks we will implement a hard stop geo-fencing, this system will beep to warn and if you continue and do not exit it will shut the cart down and force a backing up of the cart. We will have 6 weeks to get used to the new system, but we feel it will help protect the turf and integrity of the golf course.
o Notifications – Tag Marshal will notify the pro shop of all geo-fence breaches. Each cart will be tagged to your group so please be aware of your driving habits. As well, each group will also have their pace of play tracked. As a group you will have every round of golf you play tracked and monitored.
o Handicap Flags – Members requiring a handicap flag will need to come into the pro shop to grab the flag and have their cart turned off to enter certain areas of the course. Please note a handicap flag does not give a person the right to drive excessively close to the greens, on the tee boxes or on the native grass hills. Thanks for your understanding.
· Course Marshal – We would like to welcome Rod McClure as our course marshal. Rod has been a member of the club the last few years and will be working primarily Friday thru Sunday afternoons.
Pro Shop
· Driving Range – The grass range will open Wednesday May 6th for the season. As well we have started using our new range balls. With the grass range opening, please note the range will shut down 1 hour prior to sunset to allow back shop staff a chance to sand and get range ready for the next day.
o Mat Days - We will continue having mat days on Monday and Thursday for this year. We feel giving the grass range a few days off each week enhances the turf throughout the season.
· Leagues
o Men’s League – Men’s League registration link is attached. To play league this year you must signup and pay in advance with the link provided. Cost is $60 if you pre-pay with the link. If you wait until the first night to pay in person the cost is $80. For 2026 we will run the same formats however we have a different software provider, Smartgolf. First regular league night is May 6th.

Weekly Update - April 23, 2026
Weekly Update
Administration
· Impending Weather – The weather is turning quite cold and snowy over the next few days. Given the forecast, the golf course will be closed Friday through Sunday and we will evaluate any further days. The clubhouse will be open during the day but will shut down early these days and the pro shop will be open daily 10-4pm these days.
· Divots in Greens – We have noticed 3 separate instances of someone taking a divot on a green. Please know if you are caught taking a divot on the green your golf privileges will be suspended indefinitely. If you play in a group with a person who takes a divot on the green and you do not report the incident you are also liable and will face a suspension as well. Please show proper etiquette towards the course
o Ball Marks – With the etiquette theme, please repair your ball marks, they are hard to find at this time of the year but if you look at all you will see them to fix.
o Fairway Divots – Please sand fill all fairway divots and get in the habit of taking a sand bottle on Hole #1 to fill those divots as well. Thanks for your cooperation
Pro Shop
· Driving Range – We will tentatively open the grass range next Wednesday April 29th. Starting April 30th we will begin using new range balls. The chipping green will tentatively open later next week.
o Mat Days - We will continue having mat days on Monday and Thursday for this year. We feel giving the grass range a few days off each week enhances the turf throughout the season.
· Leagues
o Men’s League – Men’s League registration link is attached. To play league this year you must signup and pay in advance with the link provided. Cost is $60 if you pre-pay with the link. If you wait until the first night to pay in person, the cost is $80. For 2026 we will run the same formats however we have a different software provider, Smartgolf. This change will see some growing pains but should provide a similar experience and some added flexibility. Watch for more information. League tentative start is April 29, however, we are evaluating that start date.

· Weather Hours – Sometimes when the weather turns ugly, snow, torrential rain and the course closes the clubhouse may shut down early. On these days please phone in advance to be sure we are open. When the course is open the clubhouse will also be open.
Grounds
· Sand Traps – As more staff start working, we will start hand raking all green side sand traps. We will feel this will help in the consistency of keeping the sand softer. We will continue to use the trap rake for fairway bunkers. As well, we will continue to fix up various green side sand traps, including fixing the drainage and adding new sand.

UPDATE - APRIL 16, 2026
Weekly Update
Administration
· Course Closure – Due the snow and the cold forecast the golf course will be closed for the day Friday April 17th. We will re-open for regular play Saturday April 18th after any frost delays.
· Hole 1 – This hole will be cart path only. We are doing this on hole 1 only to help with the fairway growth and to also help with the pace of play on hole #2. We will monitor and keep members updated as this changes.
· Bathrooms – Please note the bathrooms are not open yet. We hope to open early next week as we pressure up the water lines. Sorry for the inconvenience.
· Tee Times – Please note, early in the season there is a real tee time crunch. Due to cold weather and later starts we lose approximately 3 hours of tee times (20 tee times) a day compared to later in the season. Each week we start the tee sheet earlier to add tee times.
o In saying this please be mindful of booking tee times, do not over book times, please only book for 2 players not 4 if you have 2 players playing, and most importantly please cancel your unneeded tee times as soon as possible. This will give other members a chance to get times during busy periods.
o For new members trust the booking process, it can be frustrating to book tee times as weekend times will book up within minutes of the tee sheet opening at 7am. As the tee times start earlier it gets easier to book weekend tee times. If you need help to book times, see Karla or Trevor in the office.
· Loyalty Points – The loyalty program has started. All adult members receive points on all in stock merchandise in the pro shop, all food and beverage purchases in the clubhouse and snack shack and all charged purchase on the beverage cart. 1 point per dollar spent and double points on food purchases. You must have the server tag your name to the sale to get your points credit. For more info see Karla or Trevor in the office.

And another somewhat sus round. More doubles than triples, but to many. Ball sticking somewhat reasonable, putting, not horrible, driving the same, some obscure chips and flops. Good times. 92 SCW: -2 #9 -1 #2,5,6,13,16= 85May 3, 2026 Details -
Lorne Toews

Wholly Fricking Moelly what a turn of events. Just so bad on the front. Anything that could go wrong pretty much did. But salvaged a solid back with one or two mishaps, and it’s a good score. 94 SCW: -2 #1,9; -1 #2,4,7,15=86. Respectable.May 2, 2026 Details
